Red Pyle Spaniard’s Bloodline 🇹🇷 – is a rare, non-standard color variety of the Brahma chicken breed, known for its striking white and reddish-gold plumage. While the American Poultry Association (APA) only recognizes Light, Dark, and Buff varieties, the Red Pyle is a popular “project” color among enthusiasts and exhibition breeders.
Key Characteristics
- Appearance: Like all Brahmas, they are massive “King of All Poultry” birds with feathered legs and feet, a pea comb, and a docile temperament.
- Color Pattern: The “Red Pyle” pattern typically features a white base color. In males, the hackles (neck), saddles, and wing bows are a vibrant reddish-orange or gold. Females are often mostly white with subtle cream or light tan coloring on the breast.
- Related Varieties: You may also see the Lemon Pyle Brahma, which is similar but features a lighter, more pastel yellow or “lemon” shade instead of the deep red.
